WSS for SOS

mani
Dear all,

I hope you are doing well. I have one question from those how have already the experiences with SOS from 52° North and especially from Security team.

It is written that the current beta version of wss is only applicable for SOS V. 1. I am running the SOS version 2 from 52° North and would like to set the wss for that. Is there any version of WSS which supports SOS version 2?

Thanks
Mani

Hey mani,

did you have a look at our Wiki here [0]? There it is described how to
secure the SOS. OGC SOS standard v2 is supported as well. Please use the
version linked from the Wiki page (should be at least v220-beta 1).

Best

  Henning

Re: WSS for SOS

Dear Henning,

Thanks for your reply. The reason I asked this though I had already a look at the wiki page, was that I received this response "You are not allowed to access at least one offering!"when I sent the example of GetCapabilities in this page for version 2.0.0. (version 1.0.0 works perfectly.)

Apart from that, It is still quite difficult for me to understand some of the things in this wiki page. Following the same structure in this page, request for DescribSensor should work for user t-sos for example.  It seems that this interceptor shoud support KVP too, but this time I receive this message when testing the DescribeSesnor URL: "No support for DescribeSensor KVP encoding".
I do not know what I am doing wrong.
Is there any other wikipage which gives a set of different example for different queries for SOS?

Thanks
Mani

Hi again,

Could you show the request you send to the WSS endpoint?

How does you permissions.xml file look like?

Best

Re: WSS for SOS

mani
Hi Henning,

My permissions.xml is exactly the same as the example given in the [0] you already shared with me.

        <Permission name="full_access">
            <Resource value="offerings/*"/>
            <Resource value="procedures/*"/>
            <Resource value="observedProperties/*"/>
            <Resource value="featureOfInterests/*"/>
            <Resource value="allowedOperations/*"/>
            <Action value="operations/*"/>
            <Subject value="t-sos"/>
        </Permission>

 So for the user "t-sos", I assume the request "DescribeSensor" should send back a respond. here is my request:

http://localhost:8080/wss/service/sos/httpauth?service=SOS&version=2.0.0&request=DescribeSensor&procedure=T_Sensor&procedureDescriptionFormat=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.opengis.net%2FsensorML%2F1.0.1

The responds for this request is: "No support for DescribeSensor KVP encoding".

Best regards and thanks in advance
Mani

Re: WSS for SOS

Ahh... Ok. I see.
In the [0], it is written:
Supports SOS Core Operations + GetFeatureOfInterest

    GetCapabilities: KVP and XML
    DescribeSensor: POST/XML
    GetObservation: POST/XML
    GetFeatureOfInterest: POST/XML

So, now I understand the responds. But I still do not know how does it work?!
I am using SOS developed by 52° North. So either I send my request in the browser or use the client.
If I cannot DescribeSendor in KVP via wss, how does this work for post/XML. How can I request that? I already post the DescribeSensor via my SOS installed "localhost1:8080/52n-sos-webapp/client" but I do not have any idea how can I do this after setting up a wss for my sos.

Can you please help on on this?
Many thanks
Mani
